Chamber Volunteers Recruit 170 New Members
During Three-Day Membership Event!
One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of
The Chamber’s professional staff is the opportunity and privilege to
work with some of the community’s best, brightest, and most passionate
people on a daily basis. Together, we work on the challenges and
opportunities of today and tomorrow and oftentimes see the fruits of our
labor materialize in the form of significant and impactful outcomes.
Recently, nearly 200 of those talented people came
together on behalf of The Chamber, with a simple and single goal in mind
– to strengthen the organization by building its membership base. In
three short days, 170 businesses were recruited to become new Chamber
members.
Watching approximately 200 business men and women
call on their peers to encourage them to support The Chamber was a
powerful and motivating experience for me and the balance of the
professional staff. Listening to them explain, in impressive detail,
the importance of The Chamber’s work to our region’s quality of life and
economic prosperity was deeply moving. Celebrating their tremendous
accomplishment with them at the end of the campaign was an absolute
blast.
The significance of the membership campaign cannot be
overstated. Those participating in the effort had an opportunity to
learn more about their Chamber, establish new business contacts and
build new friendships. In the span of three days, hundreds of business
men and women throughout Southwest Indiana and beyond received personal
calls from individuals who they know and respect, and learned more about
The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana. As everyone knows, there
is strength in numbers. The Chamber now represents the interests and
needs of 170 additional member firms, and these firms collectively
employ thousands of workers from our region. As a result, the
organization is now stronger and more influential. The Chamber’s
membership campaign underscores the fact that a lot can change in a very
short period of time. I would like to express my warmest thanks to our
membership campaign chairpersons, team captains and team members. You
folks did an amazing job!
I would also like to express my warmest thanks to the
many companies who elected to become members of The Chamber during the
membership campaign. I want to assure you that we will be good stewards
of your investment, and earn your respect. We will powerfully advocate
on your behalf. We will work hard to ensure the business climate
remains conducive to rewarding risk taking and innovation. We will
tackle the tough issues of the day. We will lead.
